Results Are Excellent Through August!!! icon

It is good to have the traditional storm season in our rear view mirror. In fact, once we get past Labor Day, the kids go back to school and vacation driving season ends, we generally breathe a collective sigh of relief. As one of our adjustors said recently: “now we can begin turning our attention to deer hits”. The fall season usually is a quieter part of our claims and loss experience year with the only remaining question being when winter weather will arrive to influence any escalating loss trends.

Our year is financially progressing very well. Written premiums have grown by 8% easily surpassing our 7% planned growth rate for 2015. New business submissions in our newer states of Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming have been brisk. By first quarter of 2016, we will be active in Idaho, New Mexico, and Ohio. Our writings are becoming increasingly diverse geographically. Claim count YTD is lower by 14% compared to the same period in 2014. Our Combined Ratio through August is an excellent 94 and we believe we can improve on this result through year end. As such, we will realize a good surplus gain in 2015.

Our recently introduced Motor Carrier, Wineries, Breweries, Distilleries, and Golf Course Programs are doing well. If you have a prospect in these categories please consider us. Research and development on an Affluent Personal Lines Package is coming along well and should be ready for introduction in Spring of next year. The focus of this program will be customers with high valued Homeowners, Seasonal Homeowners, multi-vehicle Personal Auto, Umbrella, Scheduled Property, and Recreational Vehicles. All coverage will be written on a single policy with very flexible payment options. Many coverage enhancements are being developed.

Remember: “The employees of MFM serve our agents as valued customers thus providing MFM policyholders with exceptional products and service.” Always know we appreciate your business and we are working hard to earn it.

Best regards,
