Our second quarter results were tracking VERY well through May and then June changed everything. We had our fair share of the Wadena, Minnesota tornado. Our first quarter of 2010 was met with many Winter weather claims challenges but we met all of these challenges with good financial results. We incurred record snow and cold weather in some of our States with numerous auto accidents, roof collapses from snow weight, slip and falls and subsequently spring flooding concerns. March was generally a good month as we lost most all of our snow at a non-flooding... |

This past year was a good year for Midwest Family. We still have some accounting to do to firm up our results but we are close enough for this report. First, 2009 was our seventh consecutive year of producing an Underwriting Profit. We ended the year with a Combined Ratio of 97.4. Our written premium grew by 5% in 2009 to in excess of $80M.
