Midwest Family Responds To Washington, IL Tornado Victims icon

To all Midwest Family Agencies: We take our claims service seriously at Midwest Family. Any of you who have represented us very long know this. On November 17 many of you saw news reports of the tornado devastation in Washington, Illinois near Peoria. We have a number of customers whose homes were totally destroyed in this storm.

Our adjustors were on the scene the next day. In fact one of our adjustors (name withheld to protect him) was being barred from this quartered off area by police. This Claims Adjustor asked for the officer’s name and badge number and explained to the officer that he knew people would begin complaining in news reports that they have not been able to see an insurance adjustor yet. He said he wanted a name so that he could share with the media the reason why they weren't able to respond to the insureds. The officer then let our claims adjustor through to begin surveying damage and begin writing advance checks.

The following email from Max Martin CIC of Legacy Insurance Agency in Peoria, Illinois says it all.

Ron: Just a quick note to pat MFM and the claims teams on the back. Unfortunately our loss ratio is shot, but the claims are being paid and my customers are happy. Your claims team is doing an excellent job and I just wanted you to know. Thanks…

Thanks Max for the feedback. Our claims staff appreciates it!!!

Best regards,

Ron Boyd, CPCU
