Insurance Recognition and Awards:

IASA and The Ward Group 2008 Tech Achievement

Seattle, Washington – IASA and The Ward Group are pleased to announce Midwest Family Mutual Insurance Company has been named the winner of the 2008 Technology Achievement Award for the company’s implementation of CGI’s INSideOUT. The goal of this winning project was for Midwest Family Mutual to deploy the majority of the company’s staff to a work-from-home environment and to be able to be declared a “green” company.

The results of this project were judged by an industry panel as “innovative” and “delivering measurable business impact in the insurance industry.” The distinguished industry experts who participated in the judging of the award submissions included Peter Marotta of ISO and the Insurance Data Management Association, Karen Pauli and Matt Macauley of TowerGroup, Carrie Burns of Insurance Networking News, and Jeff Rieder of The Ward Group.

“Midwest Family Mutual’s use of imaging, workflow and automation is very noteworthy,” said Jeffrey Rieder, CPA, CPCU and president of The Ward Group. “They not only had the vision of using innovative technology but also had the courage to change business processes that resulted in significant expense savings and greatly improved the efficiency of its employees. It was also impressive to see the forward-thinking strategy to reduce the company’s use of energy resources even as policies and customers were added.” Read the full release. . .

MIIAB 2004

On April 28, 2004, I had the pleasure to accept the Minnesota Independent Agents and Brokers Associations annual "Company Award Of Excellence". We are very proud of the recognition. The award was presented at the annual MIIAB convention.

It is the culture of our company to treat our agents as customers. By treating you as customers and providing you service levels that are second to none, we think this is the best way to provide the best service possible to our insured.s. In short, you are our value added touch of professional excellence.

Our employees take a lot of pride in what we do. Significant investments have been made in technology this past 2 years by Midwest Family, but it is our desire for this technology to enhance the human relationships that are so very important to the success of our business. It is gratifying to receive confirmation of this from Minnesota agents at the convention. We have received similar feedback from our agents at Spring Agency Meetings we have conducted to date in Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin. Meetings will begin shortly in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota.

On behalf of all the agents and employees of Midwest Family, it gives us great pleasure to be recognized recipient of the "Company Award Of Excellence" by the Minnesota Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association.

Best regards,

Ron Boyd, CPCU
